Jay
S. Jester
is a co-founding partner of Jester Gibson & Moore,
LLP, where he specializes in employment law,
commercial litigation and small business
transactions. He has successfully represented both
employers and employees in every facet of the
employment relationship, including employment
agreements and policies, contract and business tort
disputes, discrimination claims, wrongful discharge
claims, wage and hour disputes, overtime issues and
claims, trade secrets, and covenants not to solicit
or compete and related claims. He has participated
in more than thirty trials and arbitrations. After
serving in the United States Coast Guard, he
received his BBS in economics from Boise State
University (magna cum laude) in 1984 and his J.D.
from the University of Virginia in 1987. He is a
contributor to The Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado
Employment Law, First Ed. (Supp. 2008)(on the topic
of noncompete agreements) and teaches Continuing
Legal Education classes concerning issues related to
noncompete agreements and violence in the workplace.
Mr. Jester has actively participated in the

Family Limited Partnership, 264 F.3d 999 (10th Cir.
2001); Cafeteria Operators, L.P. v. AmCap, 972 P.2d
